Gary ADMINModeratorHey everyone hope your all enjoying the new look ??
What do you all think about this new road idea where we will be charged 15p per mile I for 1 don’t think I could manage as I have a daughter in the lake district and I do just over 1000 miles a month without and shopping trips or days out or even visiting my daughter I can see this taking alot of drivers either off the roads or drivers with no road tax and an I wounder just how they will monitor you ??

Carly RamshawParticipantMore so can they monitor you correctly, twice I have been accused of driving in bus lanes in different parts of the country that I have never ever been to, on both occasions I have had to prove my innococence rather than them proving my guilt otherwise I would have penalty points and a fine,
imagine having money debited from your account for miles you hadn’t even driven.
We are not ready for it yet, a long way off I would say personally.

Gary ADMINModeratorAbsolutely carly we’ve already said we couldn’t sustain the cost travelling upto the lake district but we are our daughter support circle an we would be looking at 200 miles round trip at 15p per mile

Carly RamshawParticipant15p per mile is very expensive, I have heard some debates on the subject on Radio Four before and I am under the impression every motorist would get 4000 miles for free under any such changes, but still for someone like me who travels to customers this would be an absooulte nightmare.

ClaireParticipantIs this to help our planet or just to raise an extra income?

Gary ADMINModeratorGood evening, Claire. probably a bit of both. I would imagine but we shall see kind regards

FoxFmParticipantas i am self employed for part of my work and not for another part i wouldn’t get how this would work, see i deliver blood but the driving part would actually require me to pay or NHS or the third party ? It wold be too confusing
